The Sergiev Posad State History and Art Museum-Reserve, Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, Moscow Theological Academy invite to take part in the conference "The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra in History, Culture and Spiritual Life of Russia" which will be held in the Sergiev Posad Museum and Moscow Theological Academy in October 2000 (the date will be specified).

The conference is supposed to present reports on the following subjects:

- History of the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra;
- The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and Russian Monkshood;
- The Trinity-St.Sergius Lavra - a Center of Book-Writing;
- The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra- a Center of Theological Education;
- The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and Artistic Culture;
- The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and the Orthodox World.

The applications with the theme of the report will be considered until March 1, 2000.
On receiving Circular 2 of the Organizing Committee, stating that the report is included, the author should send the extracts before June 1, 2000.
The extracts will be published by the opening of the conference.
The Organizing Committee also intends to publish the materials of the conference.
