Piket

Piket Mount (Biket is its local name) - here the last shot of "Ovens and benches" was filmed. L.N. Fedoseeva-Shukshina brought here some soil from Shukshin's grave at the Novodevichye cemetery in Moscow in July 1989 . On Piket Mount the annual traditional Shukshin's birthday celebrations are held in Shukshin's day of birth.
Near the village there is a hill. It's Piket Mount. It signified a lot for Shukshin. Maybe it's not by accident that the last shots of "Ovens and benches" were filmed there. Nowadays the annual traditional Shukshin's birthday celebrations are held here... A wide space is seen from the place loved by little Vassya Shukshin and artist Vasily Shukshin.
