At the turn of the XIX - XX centuries primitive art changed a lot: it acquired high artistic recognition and therefore we can mark its self-re-evaluation. As a result a new type of the primitive art appeared, called naive art.
   Naive artist depicts not just what he sees but what he knows about an object. The wish to convey the notion of the things, people, world and to reflect the essential moments in the streamline of life inevitably leads an artist to more schematisation and clarity - a certain stage when simpler the things are more substantial they become.
   Naive art somehow paradoxically combines extravagancy of the artistic implementation with the tendency towards limitation of themes and subjects and repeating of once adopted methods. This art is operating the same basic elements, coincident to general humane values, typical formulas or archetypes.
   Naive painters do not take space as some outer, fixed realia. The artist himself formulates it and the meaning of the depicted event predetermines it. Landscape on the canvas is a result of the inner journey, in which the memory of the ever-seen recorded landscape is mixed with "automatic painting" of the hand. It is the brush that arranges the imaginary visions in rhythmic order. Harmonious picture of the world appears as an unintentional result.
