Kantsurov Aleksey Ivanovich. b.1934. Moscow

Born in the Don area in the Cossack’s family. Served in the Navy, worked as a mason, lived in hostels, in the later years - in Moscow in the old people’s home. Painting since 1979, took some instructions at PUAC. Since 1982 his works have been exposed at the national exhibitions. Writes poetry, sometimes incorporates verses in pictures. In his decorative compositions Katsurov advocates flat space and neglects definite visual forms, trying to convey his fundamental ideas of the Universe.
