Purygin Leonid Anatolievich. 1951-1994. Moscow

Born in Narofominsk, Moscow region, in the family of the clerks. Started to draw after the secondary school, attended the local arts studio, then - the drawing classes at V.I.Surikov Moscow Art Institute, worked hard on his own. Worked out his original artistic manner, having combined infantilism with deliberate cultivation of primitivism and established himself as a painter of theatrical, complicated hierarchic compositions full of symbols of Eros and violence.
