Runge Theodor Maximillianovich. 1906-1997. Tula region

Born in the Ukraine in the family of the agronomist- entomologist. Having graduated from the pedagogical college worked as a teacher. Took military service, got the military- technical education, worked as a military engineer, engineer-constructor. In the youth took drawing and painting classes at professional painter A.Floru. Didn’t ever abandon painting. Painted mostly portraits and landscapes. Fully devoted himself to painting when retired. Often used reproductions and photographs as an auxiliary material.

Vorontsova Elizaveta Ksaverievna (1792-1880), the wife of the General-governor of Novorossiysk and Bessarabia M.S.Vorontsov, whose salon in Odessa A.S.Pushkin used to visit quite often in 1823-1824; a woman whom Pushkin loved and to whom dedicated several poems.
