Doctor of Art History

Born in Moscow. An art historian, specialist in West-European art of the XIX-XX centuries and naive art. . Graduated from Historical faculty, Art History department, Moscow State University. From 1970 till 1976 worked in Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts; from 1976 till 1981 - in "Sovetskaya Encyclopedia" publishing house. Since 1981 works in the Department of Folk Arts at the State Institute for Art Studies. Occupied in the problems of the naive art since late 1970-ies. The author and compiler of many books and articles on Russian and foreign art, curator of numerous art exhibitions in Russia and abroad, responsible for the sections of Russian naive art at the exhibitions "Insita-94" and "Insita-97". Connoisseur of the naive art.
